Mr. Brian Mays has been teaching English at the secondary level for over a decade. He began his career in 2007, teaching freshman composition at Temple University and working as a tutor in their Writing Center. In 2011, he transitioned to teaching high school English at Lower Merion High School where he currently serves as the English Department Chair since 2016. Mr. Mays has taught high school students of all grades at the honors, college prep, and AP levels. During his time at Lower Merion, he designed a student-run writing center, which operates at both Lower Merion and Harriton High Schools; restructured the sequence of English courses students take; and wrote curriculum for three new courses. He has also taught creative writing and sponsored Mock Trial, Honor Council, and Film Club. Mr. Mays earned a B.A. in English and M.Ed. in Secondary Education at Temple University and is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at Arcadia University. Mr. Mays currently resides in Ambler with his wife and daughter.
