My name is Mr. Andrew Samulewicz and I am excited to work with you this year. I am a scientist who has converted to an educator. I am passionate about teaching science to students of all ages and am excited to work with you this school year. Let me tell you a little about my background to get to know me better.

I hold a B.S. in Biological Sciences with a minor in Marine Biology from the Pennsylvania State University. I later returned to school to receive an M.Ed in Science Curriculum and Instruction. I hold Certifications in Biology, Chemistry, and General Science. During my time at University I worked and traveled researching coral reefs and their ecosystems. My research particularly focused on Microsatellite Design and Analysis. I later continued work which focused on 3-D skeletal structure modeling and analysis.

After graduating, I continued work in the laboratory before returning to school to receive a Masters's degree in Science Curriculum and instruction. My work and thesis focused on utilizing Inquiry-Based Learning and Next Generation Science Standards to facilitate student learning. I have written a curriculum for both physical and life sciences that I have incorporated throughout this school year.

My goal as an educator is to ensure that you can be the best student you can be. I want to enable you to use scientific logic and reasoning to work through complex problems. I can assure you that the thinking skills you will develop in the class will help you with all problems in your everyday life. I hope to inspire you to continue to work in science and potentially follow a career down this path.
